When Gotham City came to our Glasgow office

The street outside our Glasgow office was transformed into Gotham City for two weeks of filming on the new Batman production. Snow dressing, set signage, and a striking stunt vehicle turned a familiar stretch of the city centre into a film set, drawing crowds and cameras throughout.

Glasgow’s Victorian and Georgian architecture has made it a regular stand-in for other cities on screen, and this production was no exception – the classical stone facades along our street proved an easy match for Gotham’s skyline. It isn’t the first time either: last year, filming for a Spider-Man production took over the same area, briefly turning the city centre into New York.

The view changed. The work didn’t.

While the transformation unfolded outside, it was business as usual inside. Eurogate’s Glasgow office is one of 16 across our European network, coordinating freight movements as part of the more than 200,000 shipments we handle each year. Shipments were tracked, drivers dispatched, and deliveries kept moving throughout the two weeks.

“Gotham may have taken over the street, but it didn’t take over the schedule.”

It made for a memorable fortnight for the team, and a reminder that our office sits in the middle of a city that continues to attract major international productions. While the crowds watched the cameras, we kept doing what we do every day, getting goods where they needed to be.

Driven to Deliver – Gotham traffic included.
